17. An animal kept in captivity for teaching or scientific research purposes in an animal keeping facility and according to a protocol to use the animal that were approved by an animal protection committee under the responsibility of an institution that holds a certificate of GAP, Good Animal Practice, of the Canadian Council on Animal Care is exempt from sections 25 to 51, 63, 66 to 68, 96, 97 and 106 to 108.
